Based on data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, engineers have the highest average starting salary at $91,010. In addition to high starting salaries, studies show that the more education an engineer is able to obtain, the higher their salary. However, engineers need to be constant learners in order to stay current. Because they work in an environment where technology is constantly evolving, engineers are required to continually gain new skills to advance in their careers and produce their best work.

Continuing Education — a Priority for IEEE Members

At IEEE, our members consistently tell us that one of the top reasons that they join our community is for continuing professional education. As a global association, we have a lot of online education to offer, produced with the world’s leading experts, from various technical societies, affinity groups, and more.

One challenge, however, has been finding it all!

IEEE Learning Network Makes it Easy to Find Courses from IEEE

To help with this challenge, IEEE recently launched the IEEE Learning Network (ILN). This online discovery portal allows engineers and technologists to find online learning from across IEEE, all in one place. Users can easily browse our growing collection of online courses. They can also search by topic or course provider.

Many of these courses offer CEUs and PDHs. This allows engineers to get the credits necessary to maintain their professional licenses and advance their careers.

Get Started with ILN

To get started, simply visit iln.ieee.org. Begin browsing for the courses you need in the latest technologies, leadership development, English for Engineering, and so much more.

As an IEEE member, you qualify for discounts on most courses on the ILN.
