Course Description

This course program series will explore systems and software engineering concepts for Aerospace and Defense industries.

Roger U. Fujii

President of Fujii Systems, Inc

Roger U. Fujii is President of Fujii Systems providing senior advisory services to large corporations in the development of trusted systems. He retired from Northrop Grumman as Vice President/General Manager. He has been the Vice-Chair of the IEEE 1012 Working Group since 2018, having served as Chair from 1982 to 2017. He is a lecturer at Xiamen University and State University of California, Sacramento on nuclear power instrumentation and control systems. Mr. Fujii was Head of the USA Delegation to ISO/IEC JTC1/SC7 on international software engineering standards. He was awarded the Computer Society Richard E. Merwin Award for Distinguished Service in 2020 and is currently serving as IEEE Director and Vice President for Technical Activities.

Jon Duncan Hager

CEO, instructor and consultant at Grand Software Testing LLC

Jon Duncan Hager is currently the CEO, instructor and consultant at Grand Software Testing LLC, which is located in Hot Sulphur Springs, Colorado, USA. Jon is a long time IEEE member, and the IEEE project editor for ISO JTC 1/SC 7 Working Group 26, which produced ISO/IEC/IEEE 29119. Jon holds degrees in Math and Civil Engineering from Metropolitan State University in Denver and a Master’s degree in Software Engineering from Colorado State University. Jon is the author of 2 books: “Software Test Attacks to Break Mobile and Embedded Devices,” and an e-book on IoT device testing. Jon was a test team member and software engineer at Lockheed Martin (LMC) from 1981 to 2013 helping to create spacecraft and rockets, and also worked on defense systems. Before leaving LMC, he supported Corporate Engineering in test training and consulting for 8 years including reviewing and setting corporate policy.

Edward A. Addy

Senior Staff Systems Engineer with Northrop Grumman

Edward A. Addy holds a PhD in Computer Science, and has published in the areas of system assurance, software product lines, and software safety. He is a Senior Staff Systems Engineer with Northrop Grumman. He has been the Chair of the IEEE 1012 Working Group since 2018, after serving as Secretary from 2007 to 2018. Dr. Addy has been the Chair of the IEEE Computer Society Software and Systems Engineering Standards Committee since 2019, having served on the Executive Committee since 2013. He is also a Member of the IEEE Standards Association Standards Board.

Dr. Annette Reilly

Co-editor of ISO/IEC/IEEE 12207, Software engineering—Life cycle processes, and editor or co-editor of 12 other standards

In her 31-year career at Lockheed Martin, Dr. Annette Reilly held responsibilities for proposal and engineering management, systems engineering, and technical documentation. She is the co-editor of ISO/IEC/IEEE 12207, Software engineering—Life cycle processes, and editor or co-editor of 12 other standards. She edited the systems and software engineering vocabulary, ISO/IEC/IEEE 24765, which is freely available online. She is the IEEE Computer Society representative to the ISO/IEC standards development committee for systems and software engineering, leading the development of over 35 joint ISO/IEC/IEEE standards, and has served on the executive committee for IEEE systems and software engineering standards for over 15 years.

Bob Aiello

Trainer and coach in configuration management, application life cycle management, and development operations architect

Bob Aiello is a configuration management, application life cycle management, and development operations architect, trainer and coach with experience in leading the process improvement transformation in organizations in highly regulated industries including finance, medical, aerospace, and automotive. Bob envisioned the need for an IEEE DevOps standard and led the working group effort to write the standard. Bob has authored several books on CM, ALM & DevOps, co-authored the IEEE 828 Configuration Management Standard and is currently the working group chair of the IEEE P828 CM working group revising the 828 CM Standard. He is also an appointed IEEE liaison to ISO focusing DevOps and Agile/Lean methodology.
