Here’s what’s happened at cyber security events this week:
International cyber security concerns are affecting place of business for cyber professionals. This is according to a recent poll of more than 200 information security professionals at RSA Conference 2019. Activity in the geopolitical landscape is inevitably intertwined with increased cyber security activity across borders as reports of nation-state attacks rise.
Former CIA Director John Brennan and Facebook’s Director of Security Aanchal Gupta were among the keynote speakers at Tulsa Cyber Summit 2019. They discussed preparing for the threats of tomorrow and the annual cost of global cyber crime ($600 billion!).
Local and regional businesses and members of the public were recently invited to the first-ever Cybersecurity Conference held at the Cybersecurity Center at the University of Nevada, Reno, to talk about cyber trends and topics. One of the things discussed was the fact that cybersecurity goes far beyond computer programming.
Cyber Crime: The next threat? was recently hosted by the think-tank Parliament Street. During the debate, leaders from the UK’s cyber security industry hashed out what the industry could be doing to fight cybercrime more efficiently.
