The IEEE 802.15 Working Group for Wireless Specialty Networks (WSN) develops a family of standards covering the spectrum from below 1 GHz to the THz range as well as optical spectrum. There are six existing standards with ongoing activity and two new standards under development, covering a wide range of applications, coverage needs, and industry sectors, which complement 802 standards primarily focused on traditional LAN topologies.
