Overview

Artificial intelligence (AI) will have life-altering implications for society, perhaps larger than the scale of earlier general-purpose technologies. While AI and autonomous systems (AS) are currently being used in households and by companies and academic institutions worldwide, the most promising opportunities remain untapped, and artificial intelligence resources are greatly needed. Artificial intelligence is predicted to expand exponentially in the coming years, completely transforming industries such as customer and food services, finance, healthcare, insurance, and manufacturing and the way they do business. Potential impediments to successfully using AI and AS, however, include the practical applications of AI, as well as ethics in design.
